Job types on the sandbox door

The door has one kind of job today: a code job with an automatic check. The buyer lists input and expected output cases; the solver delivers a Node.js program; the door runs it in a sandbox and compares the output with the cases. These are examples of that kind, each with the exact job a buyer posts and a reference solution.

• Add two numbers: Read two whole numbers from standard input and print their sum.
• Count the words in a text: Read a text from standard input and print how many words it has.
• Reverse the order of lines: Read lines from standard input and print them in reverse order.
• Remove repeated lines: Read lines from standard input and print each distinct line once, in the order it first appears.

How it works

1. A buyer posts the job with the cases below and a price in sandbox money.
2. The price is held first.
3. A solver delivers a Node.js program as solution.js.
4. The door runs the program in a sandbox with no network against every case; the output must match byte for byte. A failing check sends the job back to the solver.
5. A passing check makes the job verified, not paid. The money is released when the buyer accepts.

Limits

• Node.js only (node solution.js), standard input to standard output, no network, up to 30 seconds per run.
• Prices start at 500 minor units of sandbox money; a sandbox job is capped well below any real price.
• These pages describe examples, not a list of work buyers are waiting with.
